The Ross Online Productions Before They Were Pros Collection is the culmination of close to ten years of work from award-winning producer, Stu Ross documenting, reporting and videotaping high school sports. During his tenure as the leading high school sports reporter in the United States, Ross and his crew recorded over 35,000 games between 1994 and 2003. Through this effort, Ross had the good fortune to capture almost 1,000 past and current professional athletes that now make up the Ross Online Productions Before They Were Pros Collection. The content contains game, interview and feature footage for some of the most well known athletes in all major sports, both professional and amateur.

Ross Online Productions has partnered with MediaMine, LLC, a digital media asset management company, to digitize the Before They Were Pros Collection, create metadata and load the content onto a digital media asset management platform. Now the collection is easily accessible and searchable making it possible for sports, entertainment, broadcast and media outlets to view the media and license Ross Online Productions Before They Were Pros Collection content. MediaMine has also created traditional and new media outlets so that fans of all sports can enjoy this amazing archive of legacy content.

Stu Ross is currently a partner of Ross Online Productions and was the Director and Producer of America’s largest locally produced “High School Sports Shows” which aired in over 105 markets across 35 cities establishing the basis for the Before They Were Pros collection.

Ross was born and raised in the Philadelphia region and is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, School of Journalism. He began his career at the sports department of the #1 rated local TV station in Miami, Florida — WTVJ, CBS — where he discovered his passion for sports production. Thereafter, he took a position as the Assistant Sports Director at the ABC station in Miami —WLBW and later became the Sports Anchor and Producer at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1987, he founded Ross Productions and became the largest producer of NHL Team Highlight videos (13 teams) including his award-winning Stanley Cup videos. He also produced the Philadelphia Flyers annual highlight films including “The Flyers 25th Anniversary Film," shown at The Academy of Music in Philadelphia. In addition, he is credited with producing documentaries on some of the NHL’s finest players including Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Bobby Clark and Bernie Parent. Several of these films climbed to Billboard Magazine’s Top 10 Best Selling Videos.

Ross Productions was also the producer and owner of America's largest weekly, locally produced, TV series title sponsored by the nation's largest newspapers, which aired between 1994 and 2003 in 35 cities across America. This television series featured extraordinary high school athletes permitting Ross Productions to shoot approximately 30,000 high school games capturing over 2 million student athletes. Today, Stu Ross is the catalyst for Ross Online Productions Before They Were Pros Collection which features of over 1,000 NFL, NBA, NHL, NBA, WBNA and PGA stars while they were high School. In addition, the collection includes high school footage of Olympic medalists as well as extreme and aspirational sports footage.

Throughout Stu’s celebrated career he received 14 EMMYS and TELLYS and continues to be recognized as an award winning sports film producer.
